Joel Suchomel

Joel Suchomel has over 28 years of experience in information systems and financial services.  He is responsible for all customer engagement platforms across Discover that include Agent, IVR, Messaging/Chat, Web and Mobile.  Additionally, Joel has responsibility for Enterprise Shared Capabilities such as targeting engines, the event bus, and enterprise messaging with Discover’s customers through email, SMS and push.

Joel started as a C developer and has held roles of increasing responsibility including leading digital development across all businesses and enterprise architecture, among others.  An avid technologist, he always needs to know how things work.  Joel’s hobbies include designing and building whatever he dreams up from furniture in his woodworking shop to coding VR apps for virtual reality headsets to building a Pi-driven robotic arm.
