Carrie Mathews is the Senior Director, Client Delivery at the CIO Executive Council (CEC). She brings experience in IT research and writing, client relationship management and consulting to the organization where she has worked since its inception in 2004. As Senior Director, Client Delivery, Carrie directs the team responsible for delivering custom leadership development programming to clients. These unique programs include virtual sessions, onsite team meetings, events and multi-day conferences. Carrie facilitates many of these sessions which feature interactive modules and real-world group exercises, all designed to result in actionable takeaways for attendees. In addition, Carrie has been a featured moderator at CIO Perspectives events, CIO 100 Symposium, CIO The Year Ahead and Refine Your Power Women’s Career Lab held at Suffolk University.

 

Carrie’s previous roles at CEC include managing a team of program managers and associates, contributing columns to CIO magazine, coordinating regional half-day events, and managing a base of member accounts. Before joining the CEC team, Carrie spent two years working for the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) where she managed a team of researchers, authored reports on a range of technology issues and managed customer relationships on a global basis. She also spent two years as an associate in research at Duke University where she analyzed topics such as housing, tobacco and medical malpractice, which resulted in several articles being published in well-known academic journals. Carrie began her career as a research assistant at ICF Consulting focused on housing and community development work.
Carrie holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in political science from Colgate University.
